Resumen
Resumen: 2011, el Año Internacional de la Química (AIQ) ha supuesto una oportunidad para las instituciones educativas y profesionales de la Comunidad Autónoma de las Islas Baleares para resaltar los logros de la química y celebrar sus contribuciones al bienestar de la sociedad. Durante este año, el Colegio Oficial de Químicos, la Asociación de Químicos y la Universidad de las Islas Baleares han trabajado conjuntamente para promocionar la química en la sociedad de las Islas Baleares. Este artículo resume las diversas actividades educativas, profesionales y de promoción de la química que ha organizado el comité colegiado y que han hecho a la química protagonista durante este AIQ.

Abstract: 2011, International Year of Chemistry (IYC) has been an opportunity for the educational and professional institutions in the Balearic Islands to highlight the achievements of chemistry and to celebrate its contributions to the well-being of humankind. During this year, the Colegio Oficial de Químicos, the Asociación de Químicos and the University of the Balearic Islands worked together to promote chemistry among the Balearic Island society. This paper summarizes the promotional, educational and professional activities carried out by the committee, which makes chemistry protagonist during this IYC.
