Resumen

La excepcional versatilidad del níquel reside en su capacidad para acceder a múltiples estados de oxidación y participar en procesos de uno y dos electrones; sin embargo, esto también complica la interpretación de sus mecanismos. En esta perspectiva analizamos la formación de enlaces C(sp2)–heteroátomo y el acoplamiento cruzado electrofílico C(sp2)–C(sp3), ambas catalizadas por níquel. Aunque estas reacciones se utilizan ampliamente, sus mecanismos siguen siendo objeto de debate. Destacamos cómo el ligando, el reductor y la identidad del nucleófilo pueden alterar la vía catalítica dominante. Este análisis enfatiza que comprender la divergencia mecanística no es un asunto académico, sino que impacta directamente la reactividad, la selectividad y el diseño de catalizadores, siendo crucial para el desarrollo de futuras transformaciones.
