Abstract
In recent years, Spain has experienced a positive trend in R&D investment. The author offers some reflections on the fundamental role played by the State Research Agency, the need for greater and better coordination between the resources dedicated to R&D by the Central Government and the Autonomous Communities, and the success rates in calls for knowledge-generating projects. Legislation passed in recent years facilitates the transfer and exchange of knowledge. The establishment and consolidation of the six-year transfer period is considered a key incentive for its promotion. The author proposes strengthening the OTCs by professionalizing their resources and personnel.
