Abstract

The evaluation of compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) is five years away, in a context in which the limit of 1.5ºC in global warming is being reached. This article reviews the research carried out within the framework of the SDGs regarding clean energy and electricity storage using abundant materials with a lower environmental impact and even materials generated from recovered waste; materials for health issues such as the attenuation of electromagnetic radiation and finally, the monitoring of the quali-ty of the environment in a highly industrialized urban area, plus some remediation strate-gies based on advanced materials. These works are carried out by a research network based in Altamira, Mexico between consolidated and recently created institutions.
