Phospholes as new luminescent materials

Abstract

In the last years, phospholes have experienced an enormous development due to the great potential shown in different fields. In this review article the structure, synthesis and properties of the main types of phospholes are discussed. Particular interest has been paid to their r-conjugated derivatives and their photoluminescent applications. An important part of this manuscript focuses on phospholes incorporating dendritic branches with representative examples developed in our research group.
