Abstract
For six years, the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in an advanced high school chemistry curriculum was evaluated using a concurrent mixed-methods study. Through surveys featuring open-ended questions and a Likert scale, the perceptions of both students and teachers were collected. Students rated the experience as positive, engaging, fun, and challenging yet rewarding. Both students and teachers agreed that PBL enhances the development of soft skills crucial for college, including research, teamwork, and oral and written communication. The study concludes that this methodology fosters independent cognitive processes and collaborative learning, effectively preparing students for the real world.
