One year with chemistry at the University of Jaén

Abstract

The declaration by UNESCO of 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry has been an incentive for public and private academic institutions to promote initiatives aimed at solving future challenges of society in terms of health, food, energy, etc., and in this way, to improve the public appreciation of chemistry. In this paper, we report the commemorative activities developed at the University of Jaén and their impact in the society.
