Resumen
Resumen: Las Minas de Almadén han sido distinguidas con el premio a nivel europeo EuChemS Landmark en reconocimiento al papel que desempeñaron en la historia de la química y el espíritu europeo de identificación entre las personas y las ideas. Almadén está situada al suroeste de la provincia de Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha). Almadén, que fue reconocido como Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 2012, es un ejemplo típico de sitio minero histórico que produce mercurio. Estas minas tienen un papel esencial en la historia de la humanidad, desde la antigüedad hasta la actualidad.

Abstract: The Mines of Almaden have been awarded the EuChemS Historical Landmarks Award, european level, in recognition of the role they played in the history of chemistry and european sense of belonging between people and ideas. Almadén, which was recognized as a World Heritage Site in 2012, is located in the province of Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha). Almadén is a typical example of a historic mining site producing mercury. These mines have an essential role in the history of humanity, from ancient times up to the present day.
