Importance of chemistry in space flights: In memory of the five decades of Apollo XI

Abstract

In order to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the arrival of man on the Moon, we want to highlight the importance of chemistry for making this trip a success and how chemistry has been, and continues to be, an important science in the work of NASA. Chemists and chemical engineers have played and, continue to play, an essential role in space travel, and in turn, the search for solutions to fine-tune these trips has meant a great development of the chemical industry in all its aspects, improving daily life in multiple fields for its applications.
