Chemistry against the transmission of COVID-19. An effective and educational resource

Abstract

To effectively combat the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus among the population, WHO recommends using disinfectant products, such as ethyl alcohol, soap, bleach and hydrogen peroxide, which are to be found in most homes, as well as the use of face masks. The analysis of the composition, concentration, characteristics and mode of action of the chemical substances that constitute these products is an opportune didactic resource that enables students to check the effects of chemistry on the health and well-being of society in a practical and applied manner.
