Abstract
The new field created by the combination of nanotechnology and radiochemistry is opening new exciting possibilities in the development of materials for biomedicine. This approach is particularly important in molecular imaging, the possibility of using a single probe for functional and anatomical imaging together with the size-dependent properties of nanomaterials pave the way for completely different approaches. The key step in this field is the design and synthesis of highly complex probes by choosing the right material and radioisotope, their synthesis and combination, for that researches on the filed must carefully combine tools from materials chemistry and organic synthesis.
