Abstract
Do you know what are the Smart Materials?. If unaware of their existence, you will not know how the performance of your vehicle are improved, you will not choose more fresh foods, or you will not choose the right material for climbing weekend. In this scientific dissemination article, the meaning of these also called stimulus response materials is described in a generalist way. Also some of their interesting applications as sensors in areas such as security, energy or volatile organic compounds detection are described.
