Scientific collaboration in Spanish chemical research: analysis of chemistry articles published in impact journals

Abstract

Aspects related with the collaboration of chemists belonging to Spanish institutions in publications of impact involving researchers from other Spanish institutions and foreign centres are discussed. The analysis covers the co-authorship index, and the characteristics of the collaboration between Spanish and foreign researchers. The relationship between collaborations and impact of publications shows that internationally co-authored papers had significantly higher impact factors.
